Our Philosophy
The values and story behind our work
Skin that once formed part of a living, three-dimensional animal becomes a flat material when it is made into leather. My craft is to give that leather new life, shaping it once again into something three-dimensional.
Honoring the time and memories held within the material, I create pieces that bring new stories into everyday life. Small leather goods, motorcycle seats, and masks are more than tools. Each is a doorway to a new world.
I hope these pieces spark the imagination of the people who use them and make everyday life a little richer.

Loop Garage
Opened in its new location in 2021, Loop Garage is our shop and atelier. With the help of local craftspeople and friends, we renovated an old house ourselves, preserving the character and memories held within its walls.
Inside, architectural and iron fixtures made by local artists sit alongside original pieces and artworks in a space that feels both nostalgic and modern.
We accept various digital payments and credit cards. The workshop closes on irregular days. Open Saturday and Sunday, 10:00–17:00.

Profile
Taku Ito
Born in 1976, Taku Ito began studying leathercraft while attending a design school in Aichi Prefecture. At the same time, he became fascinated by the way leather goods, including Harley-Davidson jackets and work boots, change and deepen with age.
After graduating, he worked for a leather-goods manufacturer, learning about production. He later experienced motorcycle leathercraft and the making of bags and materials, while visiting leather artisans around Japan through events.
In July 2006, he opened a shop in Kawasaki, Kanagawa. He moved his workshop to Arashiyama, Kyoto, in September 2011, relocated nearby in May 2013, and opened the shop and atelier Loop Garage in August 2021.
